Until now, the Yacht-Master was only available in stainless steel with an available platinum bezel and was used to taking a backseat to other Rolex collections. Rolex has released a contrasting and very contemporary version that managed to steal the new Rolex show. To start, the 40mm case is now available in Rolex’s signature Everose gold. The bezel comes in Rolex’s proprietary ceramic blend called Cerachrom with a matte finish with polished numbers and indices.
While making regular appearances on most other top Swiss watch brands, the biggest surprise from this new watch is the use of a rubber strap, making it a first for Rolex (dubbed the Oysterflex). With the rose gold and black colorway and use of ceramic and rubber, I can bet this will be a pretty popular piece.
